เมื่อวันที่ ๕ กันยายน ๒๕๕๗ นายกฤต ไกรจิตติ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ ได้ลงนามในบันทึกความเข้าใจร่วมกับศาสตราจารย์ ดาตุก ดร. นอร์ อัซลัน กาซาลี อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยแห่งชาติมาเลเซีย เพื่อขยายความร่วมมือ "หน้าต่างไทย" ในมหาวิทยาลัย โดยการสนับสนุนงบประมาณร่วมของทั้งสองฝ่ายเพื่อดำเนินกิจกรรมส่งเสริมความรู้ความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับประเทศไทยและความสัมพันธ์ไทย-มาเลเซีย รวมถึงส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างมหาวิทยาลัยแห่งชาติมาเลเซียกับสถาบันการศึกษาชั้นนำในประเทศไทยในสาขาต่าง ๆ อาทิ การระหว่างประเทศ วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี การจัดการ และมนุษยศาสตร์ เป็นปีที่ ๒ ติดต่อกัน

 

ในโอกาสนี้ นอกเหนือจากการลงนามในบันทึกความเข้าใจเพื่อขยายความร่วมมือระหว่างกันแล้ว เอกอัครราชทูตยังได้หารือกับอธิการบดีและให้สัมภาษณ์ผู้สื่อข่าวมาเลเซียเกี่ยวกับความสำคัญของความร่วมมือทางการศึกษาและการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาและคณาจารย์ระหว่างสองประเทศเพื่อส่งเสริมความเข้าใจระหว่างกันในโอกาสที่ทั้งสองประเทศกำลังจะก้าวเข้าสู่การเป็นประชาคมอาเซียนในปี ๒๕๕๘

 

On 5 September 2014, H.E. Mr. Krit Kraichitti, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Prof. Datuk Dr. Noor Azlan Ghazali, Vice-Chancellor of the National University of Malaysia (UKM) to extend the cooperation "UKM-Thailand Window" with the budgetary support from both sides of the parties, in order for UKM to conduct activities with a view to promoting greater understanding about Thailand and Thai-Malaysian relations, as well as greater cooperation between various faculties and institutes of UKM and leading higher education institutions in Thailand, for the second year running.

 

On this occasion, besides the signing of the MOU, H.E. the Ambassador also discussed with the Vice Chancellor and talked to members of the press regarding the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of education between the two countries to promote greater mutual understanding among the peoples of Thailand and Malaysia as the two friendly nations walk hand-in-hand into the ASEAN Community in 2015.
